Spring-walks are very popular. Every year it’s going to be a new experience in the springtime to go in nature and to see how everything blossoms. For several years, spring-walks will be organized by the Saxon Ministry of Environment and Agriculture. On April the 30th there was the fist spring-walk in this year in the Ore Mountains. Together with Minister of State, Frank Kupfer and District Administrator Frank Vogel a delegation of Greenways Germany and other hikers, walked from Bärenstein to Dam Cranzahl and back. The tour was near five kilometers long.

At the dam, the hikers learned a lot of the history of dam Cranzahl and its importance as a drinking water reservoir. During the hike, employees of the Saxonforest answered questions about the topic forest.

“I think it’s good, that the Saxony Ministry of Environment and Agriculture offer spring-walks since many years. The hikers will not only have a beautiful walk through the nature, they get many information’s about the environment and the natural habitats of many animals and plants from experts, “said Chris Bergau from Greenways Germany.
