Planning tours on biking and hiking maps was yesterday! The newest trend is hiking and biking with a GPS-Device. Now this may sound strange. It is. The GPS system (Global Positioning System) was developed by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and consists of several satellites orbiting the Earth. These satellites transmit signals that determine the precise location of a GPS receiver. For example, GPS is used in the air, land and maritime navigation, as well as in land surveying, because it determines positions very accurately.

Now GPS is also used by cyclists and hikers. Our Homepage offers bicycle and walking routes via GPS for download. This you can draw on your GPS-Device, and than, let´s go. The GPS-Device will show you the complete path and you just need to follow it to get to your goal. Hiking and biking maps are history!

The position is usually shown in this format: N 47 ° 35.53 ‘E 007 ° 39.32′. If you save this position in your GPS-Device, it automatically becomes a waypoint. You can set a waypoint for example, after parking your car to find it later. With such a device you can also record your own routes. Several waypoints are part of a route. With a GPS-Device you will find your target more easily and faster. On the GPS-Device you can draw GPS maps including roads, hiking and biking trails.
